About

Diona Kusari is a multidisciplinary artist, writer and researcher, cultural and arts mediator, hiking guide and experimental poet from Kosovo. Her work is concerned with symbolic knowledge, illustrating the unseen (both ideology and faith), divination and esoteric practices, public expression of vulnerability, the private/public and society/individual dichotomies and subverting the idea that they are opposites. Her body of work aims to cultivate and foster a universal language and challenge the limits of sensory perception and language. She creates video and sound art, installations, performance, short films, digital art and participatory events. She is part of the Potpuri Collective, which focuses on experimental research, self-organized and decentralized knowledge-production. Potpuri Collective produced the first experimental, independent and artisanal newspaper in Kosovo four years after print media disappeared in the country and is currently preparing its third edition. She is also part of the first collective in Kosovo which provides cultural and art mediation programs, as part of which she has led more than 35 mediated tours for Manifesta 14, presenting 25 different venues in the city of Prishtina and the work of 103 artists/collectives, and has been working with the National Gallery of Kosovo in the past two years, conceptualizing and facilitating more than 20 mediated tours and workshops.
